Be Still not Stagnant

 

In the hustle and bustle of life it is easy to get stressed out, on edge, and anxious. These emotional whirlwinds can take a toll on you if you are not rooted in a truth that comes from God and His word. I call it the anchor that holds our soul and strengthens our spirit when the storms of life continue to rage.

That storm can look like decisions; very important decisions that need to be made. Decisions that can change the very course of your life. Do I go to college now or join the Military…do I marry them or not…do I take this job or that one…and on a lighter note the decision may be, do I go to the gym today or just walk the neighborhood…LOL :-)! The “anchor” for  your storm comes from being still during the storm. Being still does not mean that you become stagnant in your storm; it means that you LET GO of trying to stop the storm.

Instead, you rely on your FAITH knowing that God is the master of the universe and HE is in control. If you focus on Him in the storm, He will bring you to a place of peace. In peace you can find patience and when you let patience have her perfect work you will come through your storm safely….lacking no good thing. (James 1:2-4)

Keep trusting in His Word for EVERYTHING in your life.

When you don’t know what to pray…

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Sometimes you just don’t know what to say to the God who is able to anything. Because He is an all knowing God, He gave us the answer before we could ask. He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows your heart AND the heart of God. Because of this special knowledge He can connect our heart to the heart of God WITHOUT WORDS!! Your tears, moans, groans and cries are enough for the Holy Spirit to interpret! In turn YOU AND I CAN RECEIVE PEACE, JOY, COMFORT, AND ANSWERS to our heart’s cry. How sweet is that.

You don’t have to do life alone. God is here and so am I. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we will live a QUALITY LIFE!!!

Peace to Calm any Storm

John 14:27 

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you…”

Have you ever felt like you were standing in the middle of a whirlwind…no not just a whirlwind but a CHAOTIC whirlwind within your thoughts? I have! It seems as if you just can’t “shut off” your mind and focus and rest. When you feel this way, it is time for you to seek PEACE. No matter what is causing the whirlwind of thoughts to race through your mind, PEACE is needed to calm that “storm” in your mind. How? As Christians we must always look to the Word of God…our BREAD! That’s right when something is disturbing our peace it is time to “EAT” from the Bread of Life which is Christ and His word. Jesus promised in the John 14 to leave His peace with us. Ephesians reiterates that truth through the voice of the Apostle Peter. He tells us “…He (Jesus) Himself is our Peace…” – Ephesians 2:14. Also in I Peter 5:7 “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” We serve an almighty God who is always caring for us, loving us, and supplying all of our NEEDS; therefore, we have peace in our lives and in Him because through Him we have all that we need. Do you get it?

The disruptions and disturbances and distractions that come into your life are not from God but rather they are from our enemy the devil because once we begin to walk in our blessings and speak out and declare and claim our blessings here comes the enemy trying to bring stress, fear and doubt. Whether it is a financial stress, a manipulative co-worker or family member or a past failure that haunts you making you doubt your own ability to achieve anything in life, know that it is just the enemy trying to move you further and further away from God’s truth…you have a right to His PEACE every day, all day, and in all situations. Anything that comes to defeat you and take your eyes off of Christ is from the enemy. Christ is our supply, our help and our PEACE!

Remember this: The Lord said ‘I am the Way, the TRUTH, and the light.”  So choose this day to believe the one who speaks only the truth and focus on HIM! Since Jesus is truth, it will always be true that you can have His PEACE if you only choose to believe. Say it out loud every time that “chaotic whirlwind” starts to blow. Say, “My mind is focused on Jesus and I call for His PEACE right now in my mind.” There! Say it, believe it, and walk in it! Walk in PEACE. Keep your mind focused and fixed on Jesus and His TRUTH for your life! He IS our Peace!
